It's killing me. Really it is.

A lot of people call me sad but I really don't care, I have a slight addiction to the wonders that are Hadouken! From the first time I saw them play live in 2007 I was absolutely hooked.

Since that day I have been to see them 8 times now- that also includes New Years Eve of 2007 (which by the way was one of the best nights I've ever had). Some might call it obsessive, but it is just the pure appreciation of a good mosh to good, highly energetic music.

Along with the 8 live shows, 1 album signing and 1 meet & greet- I also own their album (x2), mixtape and am a member of their 'Aerials Community' thing.

The whole point of this blog is just to say that I can no longer feed my addiction until god knows what time next year as they're taking a little break from the huge tour they've been doing.

The sad part is, I have slowly began to turn people into Hadouken! fans and made a lot more people appreciate the fun that they deliver when they're playing live. And these poor souls haven't had the chance to experience this. Who knows when they will now!?

But all I am saying is, a lot of people have this weird preconception of Hadouken! and it should be changed. They don't have the most pleasing of vocals I know, but that's not what they're about- it's all about the good times.

So anyone that is a doubter, I challenge you to go see them live (whenever they decide to get off their behinds and feed my addiction) and I guarantee you will walk out of the venue with a little smirk of satisfaction wiped across your face.

Rant over.

Feeling the X Factor?

While chilling at home yesterday I caught a re-run of The X Factor- not my usual Sunday afternoon delight but I thought I'd have a laugh at some weird people's expense.

But I was really surprised by a woman called Rachel who is just your average single parent from East London, bit of a chip on her shoulder but that's no surprise because it seems she's been through the mill and back!

Her voice is amazing though, she reminds me of an urban Amy Winehouse- with a whole lot more soul. I may sound like an aspiring Simon Cowell, but this woman is going to be huge... That is if she doesn't p*ss everyone off with her street attitude.

I would definitely go buy an album or two of hers, obviously in secret because who likes to admit they're a fan of an X-Factor contestant?!

But yeah, she's obviously from 'the dutty ends' and I think that it would be brilliant to see someone like her have her life changed around and hit the big time...

Music, Sun, Money and Fun

Summer is definitely in full swing, the office is empty because everyone's taken their kids abroad for a few weeks and my bank balance has taken a brutal beating from the countless festivals, gigs, road trips and parties I've had to pay out for.

But it just doesn't stop you from wanting more from the great British Summer! A brilliant idea sprung from a social gathering in a bar last night, that we should all go for a 'post-Reading-hangover-cure-weekend' in New Quay, Cornwall.

The little angel sitting on my shoulder is saying that I shouldn't really do it as I'll be another £200 poorer, but that little red dude on the other side has started the party already- decisions.

The phrase "you're only young once" just seems to be circling round and round without any sign of stopping. So I think I've already decided what it will be.

It's got to be done really, we all know that summer is the most active time of year with regards to your social calendar and for some reason my Autumn/Winter period just seems to be completely dead, with just the odd occasional good band playing, there really is no structure for fun.

Should summer be restricted because of 'cash issues'? I don't think so. There's a way around everything, you just need to try hard to find it!
The bank balance can make it's recovery as soon as the sun goes in for its 10 month snooze. But for now- party on!
