Sony Ericsson Inspires Modern Day Four Seasons

Goldie The mobile phone market has developed hugely over the past decade, and with the sheer amount that can be done with handsets now on the market, it's a common fact that the mobile phone is now very rarely used "just to make calls".

Although Nokia were once the market leaders, Sony Ericsson have proven themselves as a worthy competitor by implementing advanced technology to give their models capability to fulfil a number of needs to suit consumers. They're not just mobile phones, they're intricately designed multimedia devices that are giving Apple's iPhone a run for its money.

This marriage that has been made with music was demonstrated in a big way at the launch of their latest handsets, the Satio and the Aino. Said to compete with that of the iPhone, Sony Ericsson bosses decided that the brand re-launch needed a performance worthy of stunning potential buyers as much as the product – thus was the headline performance on Wednesday 7th October, at the launch party in a trendy haunt in London town.

Attendees of the launch were treated with a truly ambitious compilation, in which Tom Middleton, Sister Bliss (Faithless), Layo & Bushwacka! and Goldie each had their own section of a spectacular rendition of Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons'. Equipped with The Bays, The Heritage Orchestra, and each with their own choice of vocalist (these being Kano, Scroobius Pip, Booty Luv and Ms Dynamite), the show looked to be a promising performance.

Despite footage of the performances making their way onto YouTube since the event took place, the acoustics simply don't do justice to that on the night - the show created a real buzz amongst the capital's media population. Mixing extraordinaire DJ Yoda then followed the headline performance, before a DJ set from Goldie commenced. If the show was anything to go by, Sony Ericsson have really gone out of their way to think outside of the box and better their competitors.
