Arabella Spencer-Churchill passed away at her Somerset home on the 21 December 2007.
The Glastonbury collaborator was 58-years-old and had been suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eave stated: “Somehow I've got to replace her. And it's very difficult to replace a woman like Arabella because she was quite exceptional.”
Arabella visited Glastonbury in 1971 when she was about 20. She was part of a crowd of fashionable young debutante types who visited the festival in its early days.
She eventually got involved and started working seriously at the festival in 1979 by running the childrens area, followed by the theatre and the circus.
Michael grew very close to Arabella and they became the best of friends during the 37 years she worked for the organisation.
Eavis is planning to hold a celebration of her life in the second week of January 2008.
