Macca joins Neil Young on stage at Hard Rock Calling
As Neil Young took to the stage for a final encore, the song of choice being a cover of The Beatles classic 'A Day In The Life' from the Sgt. Pepper album, he was joined midway through by Sir Paul McCartney who had been waiting in the wings.
Gasps of disbelief came from the crowds as Sir Paul dashed on stage and joined Neil at the microphone for the remainder of the set, followed by plenty of smiles, handshakes and back-slapping.
McCartney then bashed out a few notes on a xylophone before leaving Young to tear the strings from his guitar and finish the evening in a cacophony of screeching feedback.
The Hyde Park Calling three-day event played host to The Pretenders, The Killers, Fleet Foxes and Bruce Springsteen.
