Guns N' Roses and Dr Pepper jump into bed together

In March 2006 the US drinks giant Dr Pepper offered free liquid refreshment to every man, woman and child in America if Guns N' Roses should release their long overdue album Chinese Democracy anytime before calender year end 2008.

Many saw the offer as free promotion for Dr Pepper, and a free dig at Guns N' Roses, since the band themselves had been working on the album for 9 years and showed no signs of stopping. The last laugh, it seems, is had by Axl Rose, as the band this Sunday release their long-awaited album in the US.

Far from shying away from their initial promise, Dr Pepper have now announced plans of how music fans can get their hands on their free drink.

1. On 23rd November 2008, go to www.drpepper.com.
2. Register your information to receive a coupon for one free 20-oz. Dr Pepper.
3. When your coupon arrives, redeem it wherever Dr Pepper is sold.
4. Drink your Dr Pepper slowly to experience all 23 flavors. Dr's orders.

No proof of purchased of Chinese Democracy is needed, but while GNR fans have looked forward to the fact that they can celebrate with a cool beverage on release date, it won't be the free Dr Pepper promised, as the coupon takes 6 to 9 weeks to deliver.

On top of that, the coupon is only available by registering online, meaning over 80,000 US citizens without Internet access will be unable to take advantage.
