Franz Ferdinand announce UK tour dates

Franz Ferdinand have announced a series of UK tour dates for this October.

The band released their third album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, through Domino Records in January 2009. The album reached number 2 in charts back home, as well as circling the top 10 in 19 other countries worldwide, including the US.

Setting off for a Stateside tour starting in mid-April (including a slot at the Coachella festival), they return in May to play festivals across Europe during the summer, including slots at both Glastonbury (headlining the second stage), T in the Park, and a headline performance at Bennicasim.

They will also headline the Fuji festival in Japan this July.

13th Inverness Ironworks
15th Newcastle Academy
16th Sheffield Academy
17th Manchester Apollo
19th Wolverhampton Civic Hall
20th Leeds Academy
23rd London Brixton Academy

Tickets go on sale at 9am on 24th April. They will be priced at £20 (London: £21.50) and are available for general sale via www.gigsandtours.com (for the English dates) and www.seetickets.com (for the Scottish dates).
