Fratellis confirmed for cancer gig

Fratellis The Fratellis and The Happy Mondays have been confirmed to appear at the Versus Cancer charity gig in Manchester next month.

Last week it was rumored that the event would feature a performance from a Manchester super group, including Peter Hook, Ian Brown and Liam Gallagher.

The event is organized by former Smiths star Andy Rourke.

Other acts announced for the show are US rockers Fun Lovin' Criminals and veteran baggy stars Inspiral Carpets.

The show takes place at Manchester's MEN Arena on 23rd February.

The group, originally from Glasgow in Scotland, are known for their catchy indie-rock tunes. The trio performed their first show on 4th March 2005 in the O'Henry's bar in Glasgow.

Their first album, Costello music, was released on 11th September 2006 and debuted at number two in the official UK album charts for a total of three weeks.

The Fratellis played a number of festivals in the summer of 2007, including Glastonbury and a main stage performance at T in the Park

The band headed for Glasgow last November to begin work on their highly anticipated 2nd album.
