Joss Stone to release fourth album
Joss Stone is set to release her fourth studio album, Colour Me Free, on Monday 2nd November 2009.
In the writing and recording of Colour Me Free, which took place at Mama Stones, Joss's mums live music venue, in Wellington, England, Joss who produced the album along side Jonathan Shorten and Conor Reeves, created 12 finely crafted yet raw tracks that owe as much to Joss's past as to her future.
Of the album Joss says:
"I kind of woke up one morning and wanted to make an album. It's very, very raw. It's a bunch of musicians, writers and myself, and we're just jamming, basically.
"This time, the album was not dictated or forced, it was an organic process where each musician was given the freedom to create their sound. I co-produced this record; it's an honest and accurate representation of where I am as an artist and person right now. I am really proud of the music and excited to have people finally hear the songs."
Hailing from a small town in Devon, England, 22-year-old Joss has already won two BRIT awards, been nominated for four Grammys, appeared onstage with such greats as James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Patti Labelle, Mavis Staples, Donna Summer, and Smokey Robinson, as well as selling more than eight million albums worldwide.
Lead single 'Free Me' (released on 8th November) offers a widely affirming glimpse into the world of Joss Stone.

Joss Stone - Colour Me Free! (EMI)
Joss Stone is undoubtedly a great singer, and has the guts to stand up to her (very major) record label, but Colour Me Free! doesn't capture the character of its creator.
