The Maccabees to play club shows ahead of March tour

After a year spent writing and recording the majority of their hotly-anticipated second album, The Maccabees have announced a couple of intimate February gigs in London, to precede a full UK tour in March.

While the nationwide dates have yet to be announced, the London quintet will play:

February 20th - Wonky Pop @ Matter, The O2 (with Little Boots)
February 26th - New Slang @ McClusky's, Kingston

Speaking of their new material, the band have said:

“It's a relief and a thrill to hear the songs back and realise that the year long writing process was well worth it. We'll be doing these smallish London shows to play you some of the new stuff and get us back into the swing of it before the first tour proper in March. We can't wait to get out and start playing again.”
