Rod Stewart to perform for Prince Charles' 60th birthday

Rod Stewart, whose famous songs include Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, Maggie May and Sailing will entertain family and friends at his estate in Gloucestershire.

The party comes two days before the release of Rod’s new Greatest Hits release; 'Some Guys Have All The Luck’ – a collection of his work on the Warner Music label, which will be available as a two disc CD and three disc deluxe edition with an exclusive DVD of music videos and is release on the 17th of November on Rhino.

Stewart, an ambassador for the Prince's charity the Prince's Trust, will provide the main musical entertainment at the party being hosted by the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Prince turns 60 on November 14th and will celebrate the occasion with a prior event the day before his birthday at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen will host a private reception for the Prince and other senior royals, including Camilla, and a concert, at which The Philharmonia Orchestra, which has the Prince as its patron, will provide the music.

The rocker has waived his $1.85 million (GBP1 million) performance fee for Prince Charles after agreeing to play at the British royal's 60th birthday party. The Maggie May hitmaker, 63, is a close friend of the Prince and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and usually charges the large sum for private shows.
