A Place To Bury Strangers - Missing You (Rocket Girl)
As the most densely populated state in America, New York is with good reason referred to as the city that never sleeps. It's with good reason also that A Place To Bury Strangers have the unofficial honour of being New York City's loudest band - a badge earned through their monolithic approach to post-punk-shoegazing.
Inane genre tagging aside, 'Missing You', the latest offering spawned from the trio's eponymous debut, is an unapologetic track, one that with no room for pleasantries hits the ground running with the unintentional capability of decimating the consciousness.
Although their music might provide a teenage excuse to turn it all the way up to eleven, A Place To Bury Strangers don't peddle in unjustifiable noise terror, more an unobtrusive soundtrack to an <insert name here> uprising, with a sonic barrage of covering fire, uncompromising insurgency of bass-lines, mechanically relentless drums, unemotionally isolated yet intimidating vocal confidence and a candid fuzz of exhilarating menace.
A Place To Bury Strangers are on no level a band for those with a faint-hearted disposition. But for those looking for more outside of an over-populated gene pool, tune in and brace yourself for a mutation of cut-and-dry hypnotics.
