Does It Offend You Yeah? - Epic Last Song (Virgin)

Does it Offend You Yeah are here with their new song, the fourth release from album You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into, which was released in March 2008. The single release includes the standard Radio, Album and Instrumental versions, but disappointingly leaves fans without a B-side to sink their teeth into.

The electro-rock beats and the singer's agreeable voice certainly help to bring out the good points of this song. With the sci-fi inspired electro wailing in the background and lyrics that you can learn from one listen, 'Epic Last Song' easily gets stuck in your head and firmly refuses to get out.

The song is pretty enjoyable, with a catchy chorus and danceable melodies. However, it doesn’t really feel like it's going anywhere. With each verse sounding the same as the one before and no extra hooks or direction, the song starts, then before you know it, we're rapidly heading towards the finishing line with nothing remarkable happening inbetween.

'Epic Last Song' will appeal to fans of the band, as it's in keeping with the style that they are known and loved for. However, this particular single does seem to be missing some of the live, raw feeling that other tracks from the band have offered. A good song, but more can expected from a band that can do better.
