Dub Pistols - I'm In Love (Sunday Best)

Despite their name, Dub Pistols aren't strictly what you would call dub. They are certainly more a big beat band, which is quite surprising for bands still making music these days, as big beat seemed to die a mainstream death in the late '90s. That said, any music with a reggae beat is welcomed by most audiences and Dub Pistols seem to be enjoying the wake.

The female vocals in this track are a little grating at times as they can range to quite a high pitch. This is also not improved by the lyrics being rather repetitive. The melody and beat of the song is what holds it together and it is difficult not to enjoy the slow tempo groove.

There are a hell of a lot of remixes of this track, six to be exact, which come along with the CD. A couple of these are a lot easier on the ear and more enjoyable to listen to. Each remix has a slightly different style, ranging from chill out, to dance, to electronic. There's even one which features a bass line that you would expect from actual dub reggae.

The amount of remixes might be a bit of overkill, considering it wasn't the strongest song to start out with. This may be considered a waste, but at least it gives listeners the chance to find a version of the song they might actually enjoy.
