We Are The Physics - Bulimia Sisters (This is Fake DIY)

There is absolutely nothing sensical about the latest offering from We Are The Physics. Yet somehow, it works.

Taken from their debut album, We Are The Physics Are OK At Music, the song maintains the energetic nature of the group to the extent that you may need to take a breather once it finishes.

An instantly catchy bass-line starts off the random proceedings and it is soon accompanied by the urgent vocals that this band are renowned for. Anyone who is not familiar with WATP’s self-described "mutant science punk rock" may wonder what has hit them at the first listen, as there is a definite sense of chaos amidst this track.

Within the anarchy there also lies a hint of claustrophobia. For those not afraid of an intimate and intense post-punk experience though, the song is an intriguing three minute journey into the minds of Glasgow’s most warped band. It's frantic, loud, and sure to get your body moving.

The thing with WATP is that there is not a huge amount of variety between their songs, so heard in succession it can all sound a bit samey. Individually though, the tracks work a hell of a lot better, and 'Bulimia Sisters' is no exception. There may be a slight sense of over-familarity to be felt, but as a stand-alone track it is delightfully eccentric.
