Guns N' Roses return for Reading and Leeds

The band, fronted by founding member (and vocalist) Axl Rose, are currently performing in South and Central America, having completed a successful tour of Canada in January, and already confirmed a selection of European dates in June.

Guns N' Roses last performed at the Leeds festival (but not Reading) in 2002, and made a shock appearance at the MTV VMA awards later that week. The band have changed slightly since then, with guitarists Ron Thal and DJ Ashba replacing Buckethead and Robin Finck respectively, while drummer Frank Ferrer has filled the shoes of Brian Mania.

Dizzy Reed, the band's primary keyboardist, has served with the group since 1990. In 2008 Guns N' Roses released their long awaited album Chinese Democracy, which peaked at number two in the UK album charts.

Fellow headliners for the Leeds and Reading Festival also include recently reunited Blink 182, with The Libertines and Limp Bizkit also playing reunion concerts at the festival, with more artists and acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
