Ocean Colour Scene for Wickerman 2010

The Dumfriesshire based Wickerman Festival is famed for its eclectic line-ups, and this year looks set to continue the trend of previous years, with Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene confirmed for the Saturday.

Ocean Colour Scene are regarded by many as the Indie scene's most prolific act with a career spanning over 21 years.

Another festival favourite has been confirmed in the shape of The Saw Doctors. Ireland's most irreverent act are loved for their tongue-in-cheek, high energy performances.

Festival spokesperson Sid Ambrose said: "We are an all ages event and the 2010 line-up will show a depth of acts that should appeal to teenagers, students and families alike."

Flying the flag for more contemporary acts are The Futureheads. Also grabbing a main stage billing is the Glasgow based Codeine Velvet Club, formed by burlesque star Lou Hickey and The Fratellis frontman Jon Lawlor.

From further afield The Grass Mountain Hobos will journey from Charlottetown, Canada to entertain the masses with a Blue-Grass folk infusion.

Fans of the festival's Scooter Tent, which feature primarily punk and ska style music, are also being treated to a blend of new and old school acts.

Punk legends The Undertones, Ed Tudorpole and Back to the Planet will be joined by a whole host of new performers which includes Strawberry Blondes and Doll and the Kicks.

To coincide with the first band announcements a new look Wickerman website will also be launched.

The Wickerman Festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell Farm near Kirkcudbright on 23rd and 24th July 2010.
