TeenagersinTokyo - End It Tonight (Back Yard Recordings)

With Female vocals, Indie Rock and a hint of 80's Synth - teenagersintokyo are a band who fit perfectly into the current musical trends.

This new single is taken from their debut album Sacrifice, and vocalist Samantha Lim knows her craft well, the song is an infectious journey through love and "loosing yourself in the moment" while the backing track sounds like something you would find on an early demo from The Killers.

Bass and Drums work well together, and are not overly obvious in the song, allowing for a clearer sound throughout. The song is instinctively Indie Rock but there's also a hint of Dance and Electronica. A check on their MySpace page reveals the band have mixed a few edits of the track that wouldn't feel out of place on a Friday night dancefloor.

Certainly 5 talented musicians who know their place and fit in it well. The problem, if there is one, is the lack of originality. While it's listenable and infectious at times, there is nothing to separate teenagersoftokyo from a thousand Hot Chip wannabies looking to make their mark on both the live circuit and festival scene.

That being said, this isn't a reason to discount the band, and certainly not an excuse to miss them on one of the lower stages of Glastonbury in a few years time.
